Dettifoss

July 9th. Dettifoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Europe, reputed to have the largest volume per second. The dirty water drops 45 meters with tremendous force, sending spray high up into the air and creating permanent rainbows.
In Iceland, at a place like this, intelligence is assumed. There are no barriers or warning signs. You can go right up to the edge. In America, there would be barriers and walkways and legal notices and signs cluttering the view.
